Back by popular demand – I am going to show you in the next week how to make all the DIY Wedding Stationary for your wedding!

We are starting today with a hanging program, in one of my favorite shapes, the shape of a tag.

What you will need:

  • Aqua and Red Card Stock
  • Scissors
  • Cutting mat
  • X acto knife
  • Tag template (not to size – for reference only)
  • Glue
  • Grommets (eyelets)
  • Hole Punch
  • Damask Stamp
  • Red stamping ink pad
  • Red ribbon or cord of your choice
  • Bone folder
  • Ruler

Step 1:

You are going create a Tag template.  Go into Microsoft Word, or a word processor of your choice, and using the tag template document as a reference create the size program and template that you desire.

Step 2:

Print all you tags on the Aqua colored card stock and cut them out.

Step 3:

Using the cutting mat and the x-acto knife make a shallow cut where the bottom rectangle will fold to create the pocket and where the pocket flaps are attached to the rectanglew.  This will give you clean folds lines.

Step 4:

Fold the flap into the rectangle and using the bone folder crease them down.  Fold the bottom rectangle in the top square and crease.

Sep 5:

Lay a piece of paper down between the top rectangle and the folded bottom rectangle and using your stamp and red ink pad, stamp your design on the bottom pocket and allow to dry completely before moving on.

Step 6:

Glue the folded flaps to the top rectangle to create a pocket.

Step 7:

Cut off each  of the top corners to create the tag shape

Step 8:

Punch a hole in the top and attach a grommet for a finished look.

Step 9:

Now for the insert – measure your top rectangle.  Minus 1/16 from the length and 1/4 from the width and mark out your cuts on your red card stock. Cut them to size.

Step 10:

Using the cut red card stock as a guide measure in another 1/4 or 1/8 from all sides (depending on if you want a 1/8 inch border of red  or a 1/16)

Step 11:

Using your word processor create rectangles using the above measurements, add a text box inside and type in your  ceremony program wording.  The wording can take up two squares because you can use the front and the back of your red card stock insert.  Make your text red and aqua*, delete the rectangle that you first created leaving only the text and print.

**You will want the text to be a darker aqua then the paper**

Step 12:

Cut and adhere to the center of the red card stock and allow to dry.

Once dry you can place the inserts into the pockets, wrap them in tissue and put them in a dry area.
